About Peony

Integrative, women-centered breast cancer navigation.

Breast cancer care has never been more advanced.

Yet for many women, it has never felt more overwhelming.

Peony helps women navigate diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship with greater clarity, confidence, and support through trusted education, practical tools, community, and personalized guidance.

Our belief

The healthcare system treats the disease. Women are often left to navigate the experience.

A breast cancer diagnosis often triggers a cascade of appointments, tests, treatment decisions, opinions, and responsibilities.

Women may find themselves navigating multiple specialists, researching complementary approaches, managing side effects, coordinating support, and making life-changing decisions under significant time pressure.

At Peony, we believe women deserve more than information.

They deserve a framework for making sense of it.

They deserve support that extends beyond appointments.

They deserve access to both medical expertise and complementary perspectives.

And they deserve to remain at the center of their care.

Our mission is to help women navigate breast cancer with greater clarity, confidence, and support through a more coordinated, integrative, and women-centered approach to care.

Because no woman should have to navigate breast cancer alone.

Our approach

Everything you need. Connected.

Peony combines trusted education, practical tools, community, and personalized support to help women move from overwhelm to informed choice—and from isolation to connection.

At the center of the ecosystem is the Peony Care Plan™—a personalized breast cancer care plan designed to help women understand their options, organize information, coordinate care, communicate effectively, and actively participate in decisions throughout treatment, recovery, and survivorship.

Why Peony exists

The guide I needed.

— Sarah Glynn

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I discovered that information wasn't the problem.

There was information everywhere.

The problem was making sense of it. Understanding what mattered. Knowing which questions to ask. Coordinating care. Creating a plan.

As a clinically trained midwife and health publisher, I had spent decades helping people navigate complex health decisions. I had also lost my own mother to breast cancer five years earlier.

And still, I couldn't find a resource that brought everything together.

I wanted a trusted guide. A practical plan. A way to bridge conventional oncology and complementary care. A place to connect with women who understood what I was experiencing. A support system that extended beyond appointments.

When I couldn't find it, I began building it.

During chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and endocrine therapy, I started creating the framework that would eventually become Peony.

Peony is the resource I wished existed on the day I was diagnosed.

Human support first. AI enhanced.

A new model of care.

At Peony, we believe no woman should navigate breast cancer alone.

A diagnosis doesn't just create medical questions. It creates fear, uncertainty, logistical overwhelm, family challenges, treatment decisions, emotional highs and lows, and countless moments when a woman simply needs another human being who understands what she's going through.

That's why human support will always remain at the center of what we do.

Our Integrative Healthcare Advocates provide something technology never can: presence, empathy, encouragement, advocacy, and trusted relationships built over time.

But we also recognize that the needs of women facing breast cancer often exceed what any one person can provide alone.

Peony combines compassionate human support with personalized AI guidance to create a more connected and accessible model of care.

For women, this means access to both a trusted human guide and a personalized companion available whenever questions arise. AI can help organize information, prepare for appointments, surface relevant resources, track progress, and provide support between conversations with an Integrative Healthcare Advocate.

For Integrative Healthcare Advocates, AI serves as a trusted co-pilot—helping reduce administrative burden and allowing more time for meaningful human support.

The Integrative Healthcare Advocate brings compassion, intuition, experience, and connection.
The AI brings organization, personalization, memory, and scale.

Together, they help women feel more informed, supported, and empowered throughout the journey.

The future of cancer support is not human or AI. It is human and AI, working together in service of every woman who needs support.

Why "Peony"

A symbol of healing, resilience, and renewal.

Much of the language around breast cancer is the language of war.

The fight. The battle. The call to be a warrior.

That language has its place. But it is not the whole story.

The peony reminds us that healing often happens quietly, beneath the surface, long before anyone else can see it.

Across cultures, peonies have symbolized healing, compassion, renewal, and enduring strength.

Like the women we serve, they return season after season—not unchanged, but transformed. Not defined by what happened to them, but by what continues to grow.

Peonies are planted to last. They bloom year after year, often outliving the people who first planted them.

That endurance reflects what we hope to build through Peony—a community where support is passed forward from one woman to the next.

The woman who is supported today becomes the woman who supports another tomorrow.

Peony stands for more than surviving. It stands for healing. Thriving. And helping the next woman find her way forward.

Our mission

Helping women navigate breast cancer with greater clarity, confidence, and support.

We help women make informed decisions and integrate conventional and complementary care throughout diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and survivorship.

Our vision

A world where no woman navigates breast cancer alone.

We envision a future where every woman has access to trusted education, practical tools, meaningful community, and personalized human support throughout her journey.

About the founder

Sarah Glynn

Sarah Glynn is a health publisher, educator, entrepreneur, and founder of Peony.

For more than 25 years, she has worked alongside leading experts in health, wellness, and personal transformation, helping people navigate complex decisions with greater confidence and clarity.

Peony was inspired by Sarah's own experience with breast cancer and her belief that women deserve more than treatment alone—they deserve trusted guidance, meaningful support, and a more coordinated approach to care.

In her own words

"The name of the game with cancer treatment is staying strong enough to get through your treatments."

Sarah was diagnosed with triple positive breast cancer in November 2025 — a single mother of two, with a career spent in complementary and integrative health, and a mother who had died of breast cancer five years earlier.

She had expected to choose an alternative path. She chose treatment, and went into it frightened of what it would do to her body.

What made it possible to stay strong through it is the reason for what comes next.

Before you go

Somewhere this already works.

Sarah was treated at Boulder Community Health, where the B Strong Center for Integrative Care does inside a hospital what Peony is trying to do around one. Acupuncture, massage, Reiki and energy work for people in cancer treatment — delivered by oncology-trained, licensed practitioners working alongside the physicians treating the disease. Not instead of treatment. Alongside it, so a woman can stay strong enough to finish what she started.

None of that was possible because Sarah could afford it. She received one of the grants the Boulder Community Health Foundation makes available — as a single mother who took eight months away from work. That grant is why she had an acupuncturist, a massage therapist and Reiki at all.

For sixteen years the Center was funded by the B Strong Ride, a volunteer effort that raised more than $1.6 million. 2026 is the final ride. An endowment now takes its place, so the Center is funded permanently rather than one year at a time — and so the next woman who cannot pay for it doesn't have to.

"I think that every person deserves access to integrative care."

Your gift goes directly to the Boulder Community Health Foundation, an independent nonprofit. Peony receives nothing and has no financial interest in the Center. Sarah was a grant recipient there.
